The 38th chapter of Kabir Sagar, titled Kabir Charitra Bodh, is on page 1789. The true essence of the knowledge in Kabir Sagar has been distorted, leaving it of little use. The lineage of Kabir Panth originally started from Dharmdas Ji's second son, Shri Chudamani (also called Muktamani). From this lineage, 10 sub-sects of Kaal have emerged.
The twelfth sect (12th Panth) originated from Sant Garibdas Ji (from the village of Chhudani, district Jhajjar, Haryana). Sant Garibdas Ji personally encountered Kabir Parmeshwar Ji, who, like Sant Dharmdas Ji, took him to Satlok (the eternal abode). Afterward, Kabir Parmeshwar brought him back to his earthly body and revealed his true glory.
Sant Garibdas Ji shared this divine knowledge, based on what he witnessed with his own eyes and heard with his own ears, in his sacred verses. These teachings are collectively known as the Satsang Granth or Sadgrantha. In his Amritvani (divine hymns), Sant Garibdas Ji has elaborated on the greatness of Kabir Satguru, saying:
Gareeb, Guru gyaan amaan adol abol hai, Satguru shabd seri pichani.
Daas Gareeb Kabir Satguru mile, aan asthan ropya chhudani.
It is clear that Sant Garibdas Ji met Kabir Parmeshwar Ji in the form of a Satguru in the year 1727 (Vikram Samvat 1784).
The question arises: Which Kabir did he meet?
Gareeb, hum Sultani Nanak taare, Dadu ko updesh diya.
Jati Julaha bhed na paaya, Kashi mahin Kabir hua.
It is clear that Sant Garibdas Ji met the Kabir of Kashi, the weaver, as the Satguru. The same Kabir Ji also met Shri Nanak Dev Ji (the founder of the Sikh religion).
At that time, Parmeshwar Kabir Bandichhod Ji was performing the divine act of being a weaver in the city of Kashi. Near the city of Sultanpur, on the banks of the Beas River, Shri Nanak Dev Ji met him. At that time, Shri Nanak Dev Ji had gone to the river for his morning bath. There was a brief discussion about spiritual knowledge. Then, for three days, Kabir Ji took him, just as he had taken Sant Dharmdas Ji and Sant Garibdas Ji, to Satlok (Sachkhand). Afterward, Shri Nanak Dev Ji was returned to Earth. He too shared the glory of Parmeshwar, which he had seen with his own eyes and heard with his own ears, through his Amritvani (divine verses).
The same Parmeshwar Kabir Ji met Sant Dadu Das Saheb Ji. He also took him to Satlok for three days. That Satguru Kabir Ji, in the month of Magh, on Shukla Paksha Ekadashi (Gyars), in Vikram Samvat 1575 (1518 AD), departed with his physical body to his eternal abode, Satlok, from the city of Maghar. At that time, thousands of spectators were present, including the Nawab of Maghar, Bijli Khan Pathan, and the king of Kashi, Bir Dev Singh Baghel, who were also present in Maghar with their respective armies. In the presence of all these people, Parmatma ascended to the heavens with his physical body. When the sheet covering the body was lifted, fragrant flowers in the shape of his body were found.
Later, in Vikram Samvat 1784 (1727 AD), Sant Garibdas Ji met him when he descended from Satlok to the forests (fields) of Chhudani village. At that time, Sant Garibdas Ji was 10 years old. Sant Garibdas Ji has said:
Gareeb, ajab nagar mein le gaye, mujhko Satguru aan. (aakar) Jhilke bimb agadh gati, soote chadar taan.
Gareeb, allal pankh anurag hai, sunn mandal rahe theer. Daas Gareeb udhariya, Satguru mile Kabir.
Gareeb, solah shankh par Satguru ka takiya, gagan mandal ke zinda. Hukam hisaabi hum chali aaye, kaatan Yam ka phanda.
Meaning: Sant Garibdas Ji has described that Satguru Kabir Ji came from Satlok and took him to the Ajab Nagar (the wondrous city, Satlok). There, we rested peacefully, meaning that after hearing about the glory of that Supreme God and the immortal realm, I became assured that by following the true spiritual practice taught by Parmeshwar Kabir Ji, I would reach that Satlok, where once a soul arrives, it never returns to this mortal world. In that realm, beings do not age, and they never face death.
This same Kabir Parmeshwar had also liberated Dhani Dharmdas Ji of Bandhavgarh.
Gareeb, zinda jogi jagat guru, maalik murshad peer. Dohun deen jhagda mandya, paaya nahin shareer.
Gareeb, jam jaura jaase daren, mitain karm ke lekh. Adli asal Kabir hain, kul ke Satguru ek.
Gareeb, aisa Satguru hum milya, hai zinda Jagdish. Sunn videshi mil gaya, chatra mukut hai sheesh.
Gareeb, sab padavi ke mool hain, sakal siddhi hain teer. Daas Gareeb Satpurush bhajo, avagat kala Kabir.
Gareeb, anant koti brahmand ka, ek rati nahin bhaar. Satguru Purush Kabir hain, kul ke sirjanhaar.
Meaning: Sant Garibdas Ji has clearly stated that it was the Supreme Creator Himself who appeared to him in the form of the Satguru, the one who has created all the universes. He is Parmeshwar Kabir Ji, who once performed the divine play of a weaver in the city of Kashi (India). He is the source of all titles, meaning the title of the Complete Satguru also belongs to Him. The title of the Complete Poet is also His. The position of the Supreme God is solely His, and all divine powers are with Him alone. He is none other than Satpurush Kabir Ji, and one must worship Him.
Shri Nanak Dev Ji has also said:
Fahi surat maluki ves, eh thagwada thaggi des. Khara siana bahoute bhaar, Dhaanak roop raha kartaar.
{Supreme Creator (Kartar) has manifested in the form of a weaver (Dhanak).} (On page 24 of the Guru Granth Sahib)
On page 721 of the Guru Granth Sahib, it is said:
Yak arj guftam, pesh to dar koon kartaar. Haka Kabir karim tu, beaeb parvardigaar. Nanak bugoyad jan tura, tere chakra paa khaak.
"I offer one prayer before You, O Creator of the universe. You are the True, All-Powerful, Merciful Kabir, the Faultless Sustainer. Nanak says, I am Your humble servant, the dust of the feet of Your servants."
On page 731 of the Guru Granth Sahib, it is said:
Neech jaat pardesi mera, khin aave, til jaave. Jaaki sangat nanak rehnda, kyunkar mauda paave
"He belongs to a low caste and appears as a foreigner; He arrives in a moment and vanishes in the blink of an eye. In Whose company Nanak constantly abides—how can such a person ever suffer or go astray?"
Core Meaning (Bhavarth):
Shri Nanak Dev Ji has made it absolutely clear that Kabir, who appears as a Dhanak (weaver), is Himself the Kartar (the Creator of the universe) and the Parvardigar (the Sustainer). That Divine Being, who is considered to be of a low caste by society, sometimes ascends to the eternal sky (Satlok) and sometimes walks here on Earth. He is infinitely wise. He holds immense spiritual weight, meaning He is all-powerful. For this reason, He is the ultimate Guru (heavy/greatest). The word 'Guru' means weighty or heavy, it means great, and it also means a spiritual guide.
Shri Sant Dadu Das Ji also met Supreme God Kabir. He also stated that the one who gave him the Nij-Naam (the true, secret mantra of worship) is his Satguru (True Guru) and the Creator Himself, and no one else.
Jin moku nij naam diya, soi satguru hamaar. Dadu doosra koi nahin, Kabir sirjanhaar.
"The one who gave me the Nij-Naam, He alone is my Satguru. Dadu says, there is no other; Kabir is the Creator."
Sant Dharmadas Ji of Bandhavgarh has also stated this. The evidence is present in the text Gyan Prakash Bodh on pages 57(481) to 59(483).
Dharmadas Ji insisted very stubbornly: "O Satguru! Show me that Satlok (the eternal abode) whose glory you have described, and grant me the vision (darshan) of that Satpurush (Supreme God) who sent you down here and who is the Creator of everything."
Supreme God Kabir tried hard to explain to Dharmadas Ji: "Why are you insisting on this? Keep practicing the spiritual path as I guide you. When you leave this body, you will see that realm and the Satpurush."
However, Dharmadas Ji pleaded intensely, saying: "O Lord! I implore You repeatedly—please grant me the vision of the Supreme Being."
Ho prabhu chintagan karoo mora. Purush darash karao karon nihora
O Lord, please take away my worries. I beg of you, grant me a vision (darshan) of the Divine Being.
God Kabir said:
Dharamdas yaha hatha ka karahoo. Manahoo shabda sheesha para dharahoo.
Hamara nama gahein purusha para jaiha. Bina nama uhan jana na painhai.
Supreme God Kabir said, "O Dharmadas! Why are you insisting so stubbornly? Take initiation from us. Without receiving the initiation mantra, one cannot go there."
Dharmadas Ji replied, "O Lord! You alone are the witness to Your knowledge. No one else has ever revealed this secret. Therefore, beholding the Supreme God with my own eyes will resolve all my doubts. Otherwise, a trace of uncertainty will always remain in my heart."
Dharmadasa chita bahuta sakane. Charana teki bahuta binati thane.
Ho prabhu! Satya kahaun tohi pahin. Tumhate kachhu duchitai nahin.
Ho prabhu! Baraneoo jo loka ki shobha. Tate aahi mora mana lobha.
Tava lila bahutai hama dekha. Purusha darasha binu rahai hiya rekha.
Upon Dharmadas Ji’s repeated pleas, Supreme God Kabir initiated him into the first mantra, which is the five-name Brahma Gayatri Mantra. This is not the standard Bhoor Bhuvah Swah mantra, but a completely different one.
Then, leaving Dharmadas's physical body on Earth, He took his soul up to the eternal abode, Satlok. He kept him there for three days and nights. There, Kabir Ji Himself was seated on the throne of the Supreme God. The radiance from a single hair on His body was greater than the combined light of millions of suns and millions of moons.
Humans live there in both male and female forms. The bodily radiance of a male inhabitant is equal to the light of 16 suns. Everyone there meets each other with deep love. Many male and female inhabitants of Satlok gathered together, dancing and singing, and led Dharmadas Ji to the place where Kabir Ji Himself sat on the throne (Takht) in His resplendent, luminous body.
After beholding all the celestial realms and the Satpurush (Supreme God), the residents respectfully seated Dharmadas Ji at a particular spot. Then, Supreme God Kabir, leaving His throne in that radiant form, came over to him. Dharmadas Ji felt deeply embarrassed. Filled with modesty and humility, he began to say:-
Purusha aroo Kabira dekha eka bhai. Dharmadasa puni rahe lajjai.
Purusha darasha kari aaye tahawan. Prathama Kabira baithaye jawahan.
Ihan Kabira baithe puni dekha. Kala purusha tana acharaja pekha.
Ka ajaguta kinheoo bhai. Wahan (Prithvi para) mohe pratita (vishwasa) na aai.
Dhaye charana ati sakuchai. He prabhu! Tava parichaya aba hama pai.
Yaha shobha kasa wahan (Prithvi para) chhupawa. Kaise nahin jaga mahan prakata dikhawa.
Core Meaning (Bhavarth): When Dharmadas Ji saw the Supreme Lord in Satlok (the eternal realm) in His true form as the Satpurush (True God), he said, "Now I have come to know Your true identity. You are the True God Himself, known as Kabir Das in the world. Why have You hidden this true grandeur down on Earth?"
The Supreme Lord then replied, "If I were to go into the world with this radiant, luminous body, Kaal Niranjan (the ruler of the mortal world) would become frantic and restless. All souls would instantly attach themselves to Me. I will not do this because unless a soul gains true spiritual knowledge (Tatvagyan) and their power of devotion is fully complete, they cannot attain a permanent place in Satlok. Therefore, I go into the world to impart the absolute, ultimate knowledge and the true mantra of devotion. Anyone who believes in Me and chants the mantra will definitely attain liberation and come to this realm."
Dharmadas Ji had also made this prayer: "O Lord! Keep me right here; do not send me back to that realm of Kaal."
Hey saheba aba wahan na janhi. Yaha sukha taja kahan jhurahi.
Waha to yamadesh aparabal kala. Nahin janon wahan hota behala.
Supreme God Kabir explained to Dharmadas Ji, "Go back to Earth, and I will always be with you. Tell the souls of the world about the grandeur, bliss, and the Supreme God of Satlok that you have witnessed with your own eyes. Give them your personal testimony to inspire faith in them. Come back here after performing true devotion and accumulating the wealth of spiritual merit."
Dharmadas tohe chinta nahin. Tumare sang ham sada rahahin.
Tum dekha satyalok prabhavho. Hansan satapurush sandesh sunavo.
Obeying the command of Supreme God Kabir, Dharmadas Ji re-entered his body on Earth. His family members, who were weeping thinking he was dead, found peace and comfort. Dharmadas Ji became certain that he had not seen a dream, but had actually left his physical body and returned after witnessing the Supreme God and Satlok (the eternal realm) in his subtle body.
Chhin ek mein jag mein chali aae. Painth deh mein dharamani akulaye.
Kai divas ihan mana nahin laga. Jaise gahari neend jan jaga.
Dharmadas gae sataguru sharana. Baithe kashi taaran tarna.
Pareoo charan gahi sahab kera. Kari binati sukh ghanera.
Dhanya saheb tum sataguru aroo satya purush aap ho.
Tav lila ko lakhai tumharo anant pratap ho.
Tridev-muni narad koi na par tumhara paye ho.
Ta hans ke bhaag sarahie jo sharan tumhari aaye ho.
Nirgun-sargun anadi tuma ho. Avigat agam athaha.
Gupt bhaye jag mein phiro ko pavai tumharo thaha.
In this way, all the aforementioned great saints who were eyewitnesses clarified that the one who also played the role of a Dhanak (weaver) in Kashi (Varanasi) is Himself the Satpurush (True God). Supreme God Kabir had also revealed His true identity to Swami Ramanand Ji Acharya, stating:-
Ham hi alakh allah hain, kutub gos aroo pir. Garib das khalik dhani, hamra nam kabir.
Ae swami srishta main, srishti hamare tir. Das garib adhar basoon, avigat satya kabir.
Just like Sant Dharmadas Ji, Sant Garibdas Ji, Sant Dadu Ji, and Sant Nanak Dev Ji, Supreme God Kabir had also taken Swami Ramanand Ji—the Acharya of Kashi—to Satlok (the eternal realm), revealed His true identity to him, and then returned him to his physical body on Earth. Swami Ramanand Ji had also stated:-
Tahan wahan chit chakrit bhaya, dekh fajal darbar. Das garib sijda kiya, ham paye didar.
Bolat ramanand ji, suno kabir kartar. Garibdas sab roop mein tum hi bolanhar.
Tum saheb tum sant ho, tum satguru tum hans. Garibdas tum roop bina, aur na dooja ansh.
Main bhakta mukta bhaya, kiya karm kul nash. Garibdas avigat mile, meti man ki pyas.
Donon thaur hai ek too, bhaya ek se doy. Garibdas ham karanen, aaye ho mag joy.
Bole ramanand ji, suno kabir shubhan. Garibdas mukt bhaye, udhare pind aur pran.
Goshti ramanand se kashi nagar manjhar. Garibdas jind pir ke, ham paye didar.
The above evidence clearly proves that Kabir, the weaver who wove cloth in Kashi, is Himself the Complete God. He is the Creator of all.
It is a great irony that apart from this servant (Rampal Das), all other Kabir Panthis (followers of the Kabir sect) claim that the Satpurush (True God) is formless and that there is only light in Satlok. They believe Kabir Ji was merely an enlightened soul—a Satguru—sent by that Satpurush, and not the Satpurush Himself. This makes it evident that those running the Kabir Panth today are unfamiliar with the actual truth. They only preach superficial, unverified knowledge. On page 1790 of the book Kabir Sagar, under the section 'Kabir Charitra Bodh', it is incorrectly written that:
"The Command of the Satpurush:
The Satpurush said to Gyani Ji (Kabir), 'O Gyani Ji! Kaal Purush has trapped and destroyed all living beings. No soul comes to my realm. I had sent Sukrit Ji (Dharmadas) to Earth to spread the true path. Kaal Purush deceived him and trapped him in worldly folklore. Go to Earth, awaken Sukrit Ji, and reveal the path to liberation.' Accepting the command of the Satpurush with the utmost reverence, Gyani Ji prostrated in respect and departed from Satlok."
The account of Kabir Saheb’s manifestation in Kashi is also written incorrectly in that book:
It states that on the full moon day of the month of Jyeshtha, on a Monday in the Vikrami Samvat year 1455, the radiance of the Satpurush descended into the Lahartara Pond in Kashi. At that moment, the earth and the sky lit up. The Vaishnav saint, Ashtanand Ji, was sitting by the pond at that time. It was raining, and lightning was flashing. It is clear from this description just how well the author's intellect was functioning. It claims that it was raining, yet the Vaishnav Saint Ashtanand Ji was just sitting out by the pond.
Consider this: What was the sage Ashtanand doing sitting by the pond in the rain? Even a foolish person would not sit out in the rain; they too would look around for a house or a hut for shelter. The reality is that Ashtanand was a spiritual practitioner (Sadhak). He used to go there every day to bathe. He would sit near the lake and perform his spiritual practices (Sadhana). Just like any other day, he had bathed and was performing his spiritual practices on that day as well. That day was the full moon day (Purnima) of the month of Jyeshtha. The weather was clear.
Then it is written that Neeru was bringing his wife home from her parents' house for the first time. Neema felt thirsty. She went to the pond to drink water and brought the infant back from there. Furthermore, Neeru and Neema are described as Muslims by birth. As you have read the details written on page 1790 of Kabir Charitra Bodh, the author wrote about Kabir Ji coming to Earth by the command of the Satpurush. This makes it clear that because these old followers of the Kabir sect (Kabir Panthis) were unfamiliar with the reality, they were spreading incorrect information about Kabir Ji. Please read the true and accurate Kabir Charitra Bodh below:-
