Summary of Ambu Sagar
Ambu Sagar is the third chapter in Kabir Sagar, located on page 1 (287). The Ambu Sagar chapter consists of 14 parts (sections). In the Srishti Rachna (Creation of the Universe) section, it is stated that there are 21 universes in Kaal’s domain. He has made a group of five universes. There are four such groups, each containing five universes. One universe has been kept separate, with a similar area to all of the others. Now, the description in the Ambu Sagar that you will read about thirteen sections (tarang) pertains not to the universe in which we reside. The description applies to the fifth universe, which is the one in the middle of the group. In this fifth universe, creation takes place parallel to each of the other universes. The detailed explanation is as follows:
Video - Knowledge about 13 Yugas pertaining to another universe
In the universe in which we reside, those who performed God Kabir’s worship up to Satnaam (True Name) but later abandoned it, without turning against the Guru, are detained in that fifth universe in the middle. The accumulation of the worship done through chanting Om in this universe is enjoyed in Brahmlok of this universe, but eventually, they fall back into the cycle of birth and death. This universe has four eras: Satyug, Tretayug, Dwaparyug, and Kalyug, whose descriptions are given in the fourteenth section. In the fifth universe, there are 13 eras. There, souls are sent by Kaal Brahm who chant the Soham mantra or those who only chant Satnaam. The fruits of chanting Om (ॐ) are enjoyed in the Brahmlok of this universe, while the accumulation from chanting the Soham mantra is sent to be experienced in the fifth universe. This universe also has a Brahmlok and other realms. After enjoying the bliss in the Brahmlok there, the souls are reborn as kings, queens, or common people on various islands. Then, they perform worship there, experiencing royal pleasures.
In several instances, you have read about a beloved king who meditated for eleven billion years. As a result of his tapas (austerities), he ruled for that many years. This is a process in the fifth universe where such futile practices are carried out. Kaal Brahm has established the fifth universe specifically for this purpose. The first section contains the story of the Aghasur Yuga.
Knowledge of Aghasur Yuga (First Wave)
God Kabir said, "O Dharmdas! Now I will narrate to you about a realm that contains 13 eras (yugas). I have also imparted the knowledge of Satlok to the souls in that realm. Those souls who trusted in me, I gave them name initiation and helped them transcend. I gave them initiation and led them to liberation, bringing them to Satlok."
"In the Aghasur Yuga, I went to the fifth universe. The beings in the Aghasur Yuga are of good nature. They quickly accepted my knowledge. I helped one crore (10 million) souls cross over."
Second Balbhadra Yuga
In the Balbhadra Yuga, I helped fourteen lakh (1.4 million) beings cross. I request the readers to note that from the couplets on page 4 of Ambu Sagar, starting from “Hans Vachan-Chaupai” to the last line, and the entire section on page 5, as well as the part on page 6 related to Balbhadra Yuga, are fabricated.
Third Dhandar Yuga Description
There was a good soul named Jalrang, who lived on Achhap Dweep (Island). He had earned his devotion from his previous births and had become a self-made Guru. He had made many disciples by initiating them, who served him. Jalrang would place his hand on his disciples' heads to give initiation. Two disciples were serving him with white whisks (chanwar). While Jalrang was asleep, millions of his disciples were bowing down to him. During this time, I imparted my knowledge and helped two thousand souls cross over.
When Jalrang Rishi woke up, he began to argue with me. He said, "The initiation I give is the supreme mantra. How did Kabir come here without my permission?" He then began to describe Kaal Brahm as the Adi Purush (Primordial Being), claiming that there was no form of him. He said that Kaal Brahm resided in the Manipur Lok and gave many false identities. I left from there and later explained to him in the Purvan Yuga.

Fourth Purvan Yuga Description
In the Kabir Sagar, the Purvan Yuga section is on page 9 of the Ambu Sagar.
God Kabir Ji said, "O Dharmdas! I again went to that same universe in the Purvan Yuga. Jalrang was asleep. During that time, I gave initiation to seven lakh (700,000) Hans souls, out of which 25 rejected the name and fell into the trap of Kaal. The remaining souls (6,99,975) reached Satlok. After this, I went to the same island where Jalrang lived. Upon seeing me, Jalrang said, 'I was in slumber and laziness, and you took souls while I was unaware. The Supreme Being has given me the order to give the name initiation. How could you take souls without my permission?'"
Satguru's Words
Parmeshwar Ji said, "O Jalrang! I come in every age. I am immortal. You are perishable. Once, I met a Kushtam bird in this very universe. It said that it had been living for countless ages and told me many old stories."
Jalrang's Words
Hearing this, Jalrang said, "When the Great Deluge happens, where does this Kushtam bird reside? Does it get destroyed too? Show me that bird."
Satguru's Words
"The Kushtam bird told me that I have witnessed 27,000 Great Deluges," said Kabir Parmeshwar. "The Kushtam bird told me, 'O Jalrang, believe in the truth.'"
Jalrang said, "Show me the Kushtam bird." After hearing this, I and Jalrang boarded a vehicle and went to the realm of the Kushtam bird. Along with us, millions of souls, who had become Jalrang's disciples, accompanied us. The wise Hans of that realm met us. The Kushtam bird had been in meditation for 50 ages. The attendants (servants) of the Kushtam bird informed him of our arrival. They said, "Two great souls have arrived, accompanied by millions of souls who wish to have a darshan."
The Kushtam bird said, "Bring those two Hans here. Leave the rest of their followers." We both went to the Kushtam bird, who welcomed us and offered us high seats. Jalrang wanted to resolve his doubts, so the Kushtam bird explained, "I am a disciple of Kabir Purush. When the Great Deluge occurs, all realms become flooded, and everywhere is filled with water. During this time, I remain as foam (froth) on the water."
Hearing this, Jalrang was astonished and lowered his head in humility. His pride was shattered. Then Jalrang praised Kabir Purush, saying, "I was in great error, the Supreme Being is none other than Kabir."
Kushtam bird's Words - Chaupai
Ambu Sagar, page 14:
Kushtam bird said, "O Jalrang! I am a disciple (devotee) of Kabir Parmeshwar. I have passed through ten lakh (10 million) eras (yug) in a bird's body. God Kabir has not given me the command to go to Satlok. Without His command, no one can reach that immortal realm. I have witnessed 27,000 Mahapralays (Great Destructions). I reside in the Shunya (Void) Island. I came from there. My servants informed me of your arrival, and I immediately came to this place."
Then I (Kabir Ji) revealed that my name is Kabir Gyani and Yogjeet. Upon hearing all this, Jalrang Rishi fell at my (Kabir Ji's) feet and said, "To destroy my pride, you have made the bird the medium. Please take me into your refuge, O Lord!"
All the other souls who had accompanied us and those from the Kushtam bird's island, stood at the door listening to our conversation. Our words were heard by everyone. Jalrang and the other souls took initiation, attained their welfare, and received the first mantra with seven names.
Fifth Anuman Yuga's Description
In the Ambu Sagar chapter of Kabir Sagar, on page 15, Kabir Parmeshwar Ji explained:
"O Dharmdas! In the Anuman Yuga, Adhya, that is, Durga Devi, resided in a secret island with her daughters. I will tell you about the art and deceit of Kaal."
He gave his son Brahma the four Vedas. After studying them, Brahma shared the Puranic knowledge with his descendants (Rishis) based on his own experiences. The Rishis divided this Puranic knowledge into eighteen parts. They mixed their own experiences with Brahma's knowledge, creating ignorance out of knowledge, and spread it among the people. As a result, the people began to worship the Rishis, considering them to be deities.
Brahma first came to the earth in the form of a Rishi. He began the worship of Brahmans by sharing his experiences and then left. He spread the web of rituals and deeds.
Next, Vishnu descended to the earth. He introduced the garland made of Tulsi wood, and the ascetic paths of Jati, Sati, and Tyagi (renunciates), urging people to remember Vishnu and to call him the eternal one. After that, Shiva came to the world. He started the Bhikshuk (beggar) sect, and many followers of Shiva, such as Giri, Puri, Nath, Naga, and the four Shankaracharyas, became his worshippers.
The whole world began to worship them. However, Adhya (Durga-Astangi) was not worshipped by anyone. Upon seeing that her three sons had erased her name and identity, she gave birth to three daughters: Rambha, Succhi, and Renuka. They sang 64 ragas and melodies, enchanting the gods, sages, and others. Then, 72 crore (720 million) Urvashis were born. These beings entangled all the gods and Rishis.
In that Anuman Yuga, I saved 7,000 souls. At that time, the goddess did not recognize me.
Sixth Dheeryamal Yuga's Description
In Ambu Sagar, on page 20, Kabir Parmeshwar Ji said:
"O Dharmdas! The creatures of the world are deluded. No one has the true name. Everyone is performing worship and saying they will attain liberation. If the true name, that is, the real name, is attained, then the seeker will escape birth and death; otherwise, even with chanting millions of names, liberation is not possible."
Kabir: "Dehi naam sab koi jaana. Naam videh birle pehchaana."
Meaning: "Everyone chants the names of deities such as Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh, and Ganesh, who are embodied beings. However, the name of Videh (Kabir Ji), who is beyond the physical body and free from the material world, is known by only a rare few. This 'Videh shabad' or 'Saar Shabad', is the key to liberation. Without it, liberation is impossible. I go door to door, explaining this. I manifest in a body without any material birth to reveal the glory of God, but no one pays attention."
On page 22 of Ambu Sagar, it is stated:
Apne sukh ko Guru kahave, Guru kah kah sab jeev bhulave.
Guru shishya dono dahkave, bina saar shabd jo Guru kahave.
Athava paanch naam nahi jana. Nariyar morhin karein vijnaana.
Meaning: "Such individuals, calling themselves Gurus for their own gain, mislead the people. Without the 'Saar Shabad', both the Guru and disciple will fall into hell. These individuals do not even know the real five names. They continue to initiate others by breaking coconuts (nariyar mor), claiming to possess true knowledge, but they are liars."
We have explained to the souls:
Kabir lokved ki chhodo asha. Agam gyaan ka karo vishwasa.
Sarnam ka mile updesha. Satguru kaatai sakal kalesha.
Aarya purush (uttam purush) ke darshan paave. Shodash bhanu roop jahan aave.
Meaning: "Kabir has instructed to leave the belief in folk tales and knowledge contrary to the scriptures, and embrace the profound, hidden wisdom. When the true name is received from the Satguru, all the struggles of birth and death will be eliminated."
Gita Chapter 15, Verse 17:
"Uttam purush tu anya paramatma iti udahritah. Yah lokatrayam aavishya vibharti avyayah Ishwarah."
Meaning: "The Uttam Purush (Supreme Lord) is distinct from the Kshar Purush (perishable soul) and Akshar Purush (imperishable soul) mentioned in the scriptures. This Supreme Lord is the one who enters all three worlds and sustains them. He is the imperishable, eternal God."
Kabir Parmeshwar Ji further explained that the seeker who receives the "Sarnam" from the Satguru will have a vision of the Arya Purush (Supreme God) and will attain a body as luminous as 16 suns in Satlok.
"O Dharmdas! One lakh souls, influenced by my true knowledge, were saved. This is the complete story of the Dheeryamal Yuga."
Seventh Taaran Yug Description
On page 23 of Ambusagar:
Kabir Parmeshwar Ji said, "O Dharmdas! I will narrate the story of Taaran Yug. There was a king named Uttam Panth, who was full of wealth and prosperity. In his previous birth, he was a disciple of mine. Due to some reason, he remained caught in the trap of Kaal. A person who is caught in the hands of Kaal commits sins. To make him devoid of devotion, Kaal Brahm makes his actions go wrong. One who has more Maya (money, worldly pleasures) than necessary forgets God and destroys his own life. King Uttam Panth became very unjust. He would get angry seeing Brahmans, Rishis, and Sannyasis. He would break their Janewas and throw Veds, Shastras into the fire. He was committing such atrocities. He would hunt and kill animals and birds. He caused immense suffering to his people. One day, I sat under a Banyan tree in the form of a saint, in front of the king's palace. A maid named Saghuniya said, 'The king will kill you, leave here.' I got up and sat by the riverbank. The king lived with his wife inside a fort with twenty-one gates. When the king found out, he came to kill me. Since I was not there, he returned. The king used to bathe in the morning, and a maid named Kshitiyan would bring water from the lake for him. The king and queen would bathe in that water. The next day, the maid Kshitiyan went to fetch water. She placed the pot in the water and filled it, but the pot would not come out. Despite much effort, the pot could not be pulled out. The king and his subjects came, but the pot did not come out. Then, I took the form of a beautiful parrot. All attempts to capture me failed. The reason was that first, a hunter shot at me, but the arrow hit him instead, and he became frightened. Another one tried with a slingshot, but it broke. News of the beautiful parrot that could not be caught spread to the king. Attempts were made to catch me in nets, but they were unsuccessful. They even tried to make me fly by playing drums and instruments, but it was all in vain. Seeing the parrot, the king and queen were very impressed but were disheartened. In the end, I flew and sat on the king's shoulder. They caught me and put me in a golden cage. The king and queen began to teach me to say 'Ram-Ram.' I said, 'One day, everyone will have to part from each other, leave attachment and affection. One day, you will die, think about this.' The king and queen said, 'This parrot speaks bad words, saying that you will die, you will not be able to stay here.'
The king went hunting. A fire broke out in the palace. Everything burned. When they checked, the parrot's cage and the parrot were found safe. The king and queen were happy that I was alive, even though the palace had burned down. I was pleased with the behavior of the king and queen, and I told them that I had been sitting under the Banyan tree, and Saghuniya had come to inform you. She had told me that the king would cut off your neck. Then, Kshitiyan had gone to fetch the pot for your bath, but it could not be drawn out. You had tried with your soldiers and elephants, but the pot still did not come out. Then I took the form of a parrot. Upon hearing this, the king said, 'You are Parmeshwar. Please reveal your true form and bless us.' Then, I manifested as Kabir. The king, thirteen queens, daughters, sons, and daughters-in-law—altogether 31 souls—received the teachings.
The essence of the story is that those who think they are happy and possess all comforts in this life, without practicing worship, will later face suffering and will be destined for hell. The king had so much happiness, but the saint's wisdom made that happiness seem like an enemy, and he brought welfare to his family. If Parmatma does not bless, then the precious life is wasted. Therefore, the glory of a saint cannot be described.
Kya aakash ka fer hai, kya dharti ka tol. Kya sant ki mahima kahoon, kya paaras ka mol.
Description of the Eighth Akhil Yuga
(Ambu Sagar, Page 36)
In response to Dharmdas Ji's question, Param Purush Kabir Ji explained:
"O Dharmdas! During the Akhil Yuga, in the same Brahmand (universe), there lived a sage named Dhanushmuni. He had been practicing austerities for thirteen thousand yugas. Standing inverted on his head (in the Shirshasana pose), he performed penance amidst five sacred fires (Dhuni). He had elevated his vital energy, the Pran Purush, to the top part of his head, which is referred to as the Brahmand (universe)."
Ambu Sagar, Page 36 (Vani excerpt):
“Ardhmukhi paanch agni tapaye, Pran Purush kun Brahmand chadhaye.”
His eyes and body had become frail and weakened due to severe austerities. Kabir Ji advised Dhanushmuni that penance might grant one temporary kingship, but eventually, it leads to a fall into hell.
Ambu Sagar, Pages 38, 39, and 40:
The descriptions on these pages contain seven lines and one additional line on page 38, and the complete details on page 39. These do not connect to the previous narrative. Instead, they describe the four primary Gurus:
- Dharmdas Ji
- Banke Ji
- Sahate Ji
- Chaturbhuj Ji
Description of the Ninth Vishva Yuga
(Ambu Sagar, Page 40)
This account describes a conversation between Adhya (Durga Devi) and Param Purush Kabir Ji. Param Purush Kabir Ji disguised Himself as a Satguru (Sathhar, meaning messenger) and approached Durga.
Durga asked, "O Sathhar! From which place have you come? Who sent you?"
Param Purush Kabir Ji, in the form of Sathhar, replied, "I have come from Satlok. Satpurush has sent me. You (Niranjan and Durga) have tormented the living beings who are parts of the Supreme God. You have compelled them to commit sins and spread ignorance among them. People sacrifice buffaloes to goddesses, thinking it is an act of righteousness. You have deceived them into performing such sinful acts in the name of dharma. In some places, goats are sacrificed under the guise of religious duty. You are thieves of the Supreme God."
Durga retorted angrily, "How dare you utter such insolent words? I do not fear your Supreme God. My power governs the three worlds, and all beings in them are under my control. Wicked Sathhar, who sent you here, and for what purpose? All deities, including Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Sanak, Sanandan, Sant Kumar, and Sanatan, are under my authority. I possess 64 lakh Kamini (beautiful maidens) and 72 crore Urvashi (celestial nymphs). I have ensnared everyone by captivating them. I have no master above me and act independently. Through penance, we have gained control over these 21 brahmands. I wield a skull bowl in my hand and have eight arms. I fear no one, including you."
Supreme God Kabir responded, "I have come from Satlok. Your display of strength is an illusion. You married your elder brother illicitly and seem to have forgotten your sin. You were the first to sow the seeds of transgression. Now, with your accomplice Niranjan (Kaal), you commit one atrocity after another. You have forgotten your father and abandoned His path of eternal bliss. When the great dissolution (Mahapralaya) occurs, you, along with all your realms, Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, and Niranjan, will perish. Where will you go then? By forsaking your father, you have chosen to be Niranjan's consort and have engaged in sinful activities. Similarly, in this mortal world, women follow your example, prioritizing their husband's home and neglecting their father's. Their desire is to establish their husband's household, often bringing money from their parental home."
Hearing these truthful words of Supreme God Kabir, Durga felt ashamed. She offered Him a seat on her throne and said, "You may impart Your knowledge and take those beings who accept Your name. Whoever chants Your name will cross over by stepping on our heads; we will not be able to stop them. If we try to obstruct those who have received Your Saarnaam, we will become rebels against the Supreme God, leading to the destruction of our realm. However, if a being, after receiving Saarnaam, becomes a Guru-drohi (betrayer of the Guru), we will ensnare them here. Those who follow false gurus and receive fake mantras will remain trapped in our net and serve as food for Kaal Niranjan."
The Age of Humans in Vishva Yuga: Supreme Being Kabir Ji explained to Dharmdas Ji that during the Vishva Yuga, the lifespan of humans was one thousand yugas, where each yuga spanned 20 lakh (2 million) years. Humans were 68 hands tall, equivalent to hundreds of feet. Only those who received the first mantra of the seven names, maintained faith in Satnaam and Saarnaam, and practiced them with conviction were eligible to witness the Supreme God.
Description of the Tenth Akshaya Tarun Yuga
(Ambu Sagar, Page 44)
Param Purush Kabir Ji narrated to Dharmdas Ji about this yuga in the same brahmand. He explained that during this period, there was a tortoise (Kurma) under Kaal's authority. Kabir Ji imparted knowledge to the tortoise, which then accepted initiation.
In that realm, there exists a hell with 84 pits (kunds). Each pit is guarded by Yamdoots (messengers of death). Overseeing these guards are 14 chief Yams (masters of death), whose names are as follows:
The Fourteen Yams:
- Mrityu Andha
- Krodhit Andha
- Durga Abhimana
- Man Karand
- Chit Chanchal
- Apar Bal
- Andh Achet
- Karma Rekh
- Agni Ghant
- Kaalsen
- Mansa Mool
- Bhaybheet
- Taluka
- Sur Sanhaar
Param Purush Kabir Ji said, "I captured all the Yamdoots (messengers of death). In each pit, these Yamdoots were tormenting the souls. I stood there, watching the Yamdoots drag the beings from the pits and beat them relentlessly. Among those suffering in hell, 2.8 million fake gurus were also enduring punishment.
Upon seeing me, the fake gurus pleaded for help, crying out to be saved. I said to them, 'You deceived my souls and trapped them in Kaal's web. You led them away from my path and showed them Kaal's way. Now, you too are here, suffering in hell. Rot here!'
I then grabbed those Yamdoots and Kaal doots (the fake tormentors or imposters) by their hair, dragged them around, and beat them. After this, the fake gurus begged for forgiveness, saying, 'O Supreme God! We made a mistake. We are under Kaal's influence. We only followed the orders given to us by our master. Please forgive our sins.'
Hearing this, I laughed and said, 'The bindings of Kaal doots (gurus) will not be released.'
The disciples of these fake gurus were also suffering in the same pits of hell. While I was present there, no being experienced any pain or torment in hell. However, once I left, the same tortures resumed.
During the Akshaya Tarun Yuga, I liberated 500,000 souls and granted them salvation."
The Eleventh Nandi Yuga Description
(From Ambu Sagar, Pages 49 and 50)
Param Purush Kabir Ji narrated, "O Dharmdas! Now I shall recount the tale of Nandi Yuga. During this era, there was a sage named Guptmuni who was sitting in deep meditation with his eyes closed. He had been practicing austerity for ten million years. I sat near him.
When the sage opened his eyes, he exclaimed, 'Who are you? Never in my life have I seen someone so radiant, with a form so magnificent. Who are you, and where do you come from?'
I replied, 'I have come from Satlok.' I explained the system of Satlok to him, and Guptmuni expressed a strong desire to see that divine realm. I tested him several times, and each time, he proved himself worthy.
Then I initiated him with the mantra of the First Stage. Observing his deep devotion, he grabbed my feet and pleaded for a vision of Satlok. I granted his wish and took him to that divine abode.
First, I showed him Mansarovar. The scene there was mesmerizing: beautiful women, all equally stunning, radiating a brilliance akin to the glow of four suns, as if their bodies were wrapped in light. (At Mansarovar, the bodies of both men and women emit light equivalent to four suns, while in Satlok, the radiance increases to sixteen suns.) These women were engaged in delightful conversations, enjoying the bliss of that place.
Around the Mansarovar lake, the staircases appeared as if they were adorned with the sun and the moon. The water of the Mansarovar was amrit (nectar), with high, shimmering waves that looked as though the sun itself had merged into the water. The water’s color was exquisitely beautiful.
At that moment, the women were bathing in the lake, and their radiance grew even brighter. In different spots, other women were singing melodious songs. Witnessing this splendor, Guptmuni’s heart was captivated, and he became restless with admiration for their beauty and the enchanting scene of Mansarovar.
Around Mansarovar, there were various gardens filled with countless types of flowers. It seemed as though stars and suns were embedded in the plants, enhancing their beauty. Seeing this divine splendor, Guptmuni clung to my feet and said, 'O Sahib! I do not wish to leave this place now. Without your grace, I may never return to such a divine location again.'"
Satguru’s Words (Chaupai)
(Pages 51 and 52)
God Kabir narrated, "O Dharmdas! The condition Guptmuni experienced upon seeing Satlok was the same as yours when you first beheld it. I said to him, 'You have only received the initiation of the First Name. Until you obtain Sarnam and complete its associated practice, you cannot achieve permanent rest here. For now, return to your place.'
Then, both of us returned to Guptmuni's dwelling. Guptmuni said to me (God Kabir), 'How can I attain that divine place of yours? Please bestow upon me the method. I am willing to undertake any practice or make any sacrifice required to achieve it.'
Seeing his deep devotion, I initiated him with the Satnam (True Name). Observing his complete surrender, I granted him Sarshabd (the supreme mantra) and took him to Satlok.
In Satlok, he met the Hans (devotees) and was overjoyed. He offered his countless thanks to me and said, 'O Lord! Without your grace, neither true knowledge nor God Himself can be attained. You are truly the ocean of mercy, the giver of liberation, and the one who is indeed the complete Brahm and Creator. The radiance of your form and the divine vision of you in Satlok have quenched the thirst of countless ages.'
In this yuga, only one Hans (devotee) was liberated."
Description of the Twelfth Hindol Era (Yuga)
(Kabir Sagar, Chapter Ambusagar, Pages 53 and 54)
God Kabir narrated, "O Dharmdas! Now I will tell you the story of the Hindol Era, which occurs in the middle of a universe. I departed from Satlok, where countless islands exist. On each island, the Hans (liberated souls) reside in blissful contentment.
I arrived at the center of the Hindol Era and roamed, sharing divine knowledge from house to house. However, no being would engage in conversation with me. When I attempted to share the nectar of divine wisdom with them, they quarreled with me.
Gradually, I began to explain things to them. I attracted them by offering material benefits and eventually brought them under my refuge. In this way, seven lakh (700,000) beings took initiation from me. I sent them to Satlok."
Description of the Thirteenth Kankvat Era
(Kabir Sagar, Chapter Ambusagar, Page 55)
God Kabir narrated, "O Dharmdas! When Kaal Niranjan learned that a Karidhar (a soul-liberating envoy sent by Satpurush) had come from Satlok and had rescued many beings from his trap, he grew concerned.
In the Kankvat Era, Kaal Brahm himself took the form of a secretive ascetic (Gupt Muni) and sat meditating. He had misled millions of beings by granting them false initiations, becoming their so-called Guru.
When Gupt Muni saw me, he asked, 'You are not a resident of this realm. Where have you come from? Kindly tell me.'
I replied, 'I have come to observe your underworld (Paatal Lok). I am from Satlok.' Gupt Muni resided in the Paatal Lok of the middle universe.
I (God Kabir) explained to him, 'You are Kaal. You have been tormenting the souls of Satpurush, earning sins in the process. I have come to show these souls the path of liberation.'
Upon hearing this, Gupt Muni became furious and said, 'What mantra will you impart? Whom do you think I am? I possess the knowledge of sixty quadrillion years (60 kharab).
Tell me, Kabir Ji, where will you be during the time of dissolution (Pralaya) when the 88,000 gods and sages will no longer exist? Where were you when creation (post-Pralaya in Kaal's relam) had not occurred? Where was your body at that time?'"
God Kabir's (Enlightened) Words
God Kabir said, "O Gupt Muni! When nothing had yet been created, I was seated on a lotus. I alone am the creator of all creation. I created Satlok, which captivates the mind. I manifested the sixteen parts (Shodash Ansh). (It was I who created you from the egg as well.) But you have not recognized me.
Kabir Parmeshwar Ji further said, "O arrogant one! Speak now!"
Hearing this, Kaal began to fight with me. I wounded him with the power of the Word (Shabd Shakti). He fled and hid in his twenty-first universe. Afterward, dissolution (Pralaya) occurred in the three realms of that middle universe.
The duration of the Kankvat Era is 3.5 million years. In this era, human life span is 100,000 years, and the height of a human being is 80 hands, equivalent to hundreds of feet.
The Four Eras Described in the Fourteenth Tarang
(Chapter: Ambu Sagar, Pages 58)
Words of Dharmdas
Dharmdas Ji said: "O Parmeshwar! Kindly narrate the stories of the four eras to me."
Words of Satguru
God Kabir said: "O Dharmdas! In this universe where you reside, there are four eras:
- Satyayug
- Tretayug
- Dwaparyug
- Kalyug."
1) Description of Satyayug
The duration of Satyayug is 1,728,000 years.
- Human lifespan initially starts at 1,000,000 years and by the end of the era, it reduces to 100,000 years.
- Human height is 21 hands, approximately 100 to 150 feet.
- During this era, My Name is Sat Sukrit.
(Note: Currently, in Kalyug, the length of a human arm—from elbow to the tip of the longest finger—is approximately 1.5 feet. In earlier eras, taller individuals existed, so their arm lengths were proportionally longer.)
2) Description of Tretayug
The duration of Tretayug is 1,296,000 years.
- Human lifespan starts at 100,000 years, reducing to 10,000 years by the end.
- Human height is 14 hands, approximately 70 to 90 feet.
- During this era, My Name is Munindra.
3) Description of Dwaparyug
The duration of Dwaparyug is 864,000 years.
- Human lifespan starts at 10,000 years, reducing to 1,000 years by the end.
- Human height is 7 hands, approximately 40 to 50 feet.
- During this era, My Name is Karunamay.
4) Description of Kalyug
The duration of Kalyug is 432,000 years.
- Human lifespan starts at 1,000 years, reducing to 20 years by the end.
- Human height begins at 3.5 hands (around 10 feet) and eventually decreases to 3 feet.
- During this era, My Name is Kabir.
Note: A person 100 feet tall would also have a proportionally longer arm, approximately 5 feet from elbow to the tip of the fingers.
The lifespan durations mentioned above are for the end of each era.
- In Satyayug, the lifespan begins at 1,000,000 years and reduces to 100,000 years.
- In Tretayug, it starts at 100,000 years and reduces to 10,000 years.
- In Dwaparyug, it begins at 10,000 years and reduces to 1,000 years.
- In Kalyug, it begins at 1,000 years and reduces to 20 years.
For most of Kalyug, the lifespan averages 120 years, but due to increasing pollution, lifespans decrease rapidly and unnaturally compared to the natural decline seen in earlier eras. By the end of Kalyug, the lifespan should ideally reduce to 100 years, but pollution accelerates this decline further.
Behavior of Humans in Kalyug
God Kabir said, "O Dharmdas! In Kalyug, very few will engage in true worship. Otherwise, most will indulge in hypocrisy and evil. The soul cannot live without worship, but in Kalyug, the mind (which is the messenger of Kaal) dominates the soul and runs its own agenda more freely. In Kalyug, people will engage in such devotion. They will show complete reverence in front of the Guru, but behind their back, they will criticize and slander the Guru. As a result, even while pretending to be devoted, they will destroy their life and births. In Kalyug, there will be pride among saints. All saints will harbor arrogance. Arrogance is another form of Kaal. The mind is the vessel of arrogance. Few saints will be able to remain free from this arrogance. Most saints will envy other saints. As a result, they will wander through 84 lakh lifeforms. They will go to different homes pretending to be Gurus. They will glorify themselves. Upon seeing a true Guru (the one who understands the true essence), they will burn with jealousy. They will sit in a special seat (a place for reciting prayers), and become arrogant. Upon seeing a woman, they will be overly flattering. Whenever they visit any home, they will make inappropriate gestures upon seeing a beautiful woman. They will then give false teachings. Even when distributing prasad, they will discriminate among people."
Dharmdas sun bachan hamara, Kalyug mein saadhun ke vyavhaara.
Chainka baith karain bahu shobha, Naari dekh bahu man lobha.
Dekhnari sundar naina, Taako door se maarein sainaa.
Jisko apna jaane bhai, Taako den prasaad adhikaai.
Mukti-mukti sab sant pukarein, Saarnaam bin jeevan haarein.
Nih-akshar vaaki hai baat, Bina mam ansh na paave ghaat.
Daya dharm auran batlaavein, Aap dayaheen karda chalaavein.
Kalyugi saadhun aise besharmaa, Karaavein paap bataavein dharma.
Aur kahu bhaktan ki reeti, Mam ansh se droh kaal doot se preeti.
Jo koi naam Kabir ka gehei, Unko dekh man mein dahei. (Jalte hain.)
Lobh dey nij sev dridhaai, Chela cheli bahut banai.
Puni tin sang kukarm karhein, Kar kukarm narak mein parhein.
Jo koi mam sant shabd prakaatai, Taake sang sabhi raad badhaai.
As saadhuu mahantan karni, Dharmdas main tose varni.
Ambusagar tum san bhaasha, Samajh boojh tum dil mein rakha.
Dharmdas sunaya gyaana, Kalyug kerain charitra bakhaana.
Jab aave theek hamari, Tab hum taarein sakal sansaari.
Aave mam ansh saty gyaan sunaave, Saar shabd ko bhed bataave.
Saarnaam Satguru se paave, Bahur nahin bhavjal aave.
Note: - The section on the appearance of the four Gurus on page 63 of Ambusagar is incorrect. The correct description is found in the chapter "Kabir Charitra Bodh" on page 1863, as well as in "Gyaan Bodh" on page 35, and "Anuraag Sagar" on pages 104, 105, and 106. Pages 54 to 67 of Ambusagar contain general knowledge that has been repeated several times before.
